Beginning Feb. 2009 the gas was successfully taken over by 2 hot gas electrostatic precipitators at a copper smelter in Manitoba. The plant is located approx. 300 km southeast of the Hudson Bay in Northern Canada. The plant’s erection in large part had to be done under extreme minus temperatures of minus 30 partially even down to minus 40 °C. Accordingly logistics as well as operational procedure often turned out to become a real challenge.
